To watch my Angel sleep

Your beautiful eyelids closed

Soft against each other,

Your sincere heart beating

Against your tired soul;

Whispering for Her presence,

You sleep like a child

Tired of its pranks.

How I'd love to see you then,

Hidden away from your heart-capturing gaze,

Safe from your intoxicating voice!

I'd love to watch you-My Angel, sleep.

Only to realize that

Still so charming, so beautiful;

My soul still lost in your love!

The Sun and the Moon

When the sun as still shining,

The moon crept across the horizon.

The moon said,'Your time is up,

Now I will shine!'.

The sun departed with just a smile.

Morning came with the sun shining bright,

Spreading for its own,its light.

The moon,crestfallen, asked,'Why?'

The sun simply said,'Because, now it's my time.

Moreover,even you looked bright

Under my borrowed light!'.

Self-Inflicted Sadness

“And though in your winter you deny your spring. Yet spring reposing within you, smiles in her drowsiness and is not offended.”
-Kahlil Gibran

Often I have been through a phase wherein sadness fills my very soul with its singsong; Seeming never to stop, yet engulfing itself, on its own.
That’s when I wonder, what it is in us that loves the sadness and solitude?
There are times I simply make up my mind to go on an emotional rollercoaster ride. For that matter, most of us have been through that phase in our daily lives when we involuntarily start feeling low with no apparent reason to state. That is when we feel like doing nothing and we seek refuge in solitude.
In such times, I personally have noticed that the happiness within us is just a smile away, yet it becomes such a pain to smile then. It all seems as if we have given up on our share of happiness for this lifetime!
But then, it’s just a mater of a few seconds before we are out of the shell. It’s as if happiness was building up within us in that defined period and finally our sadness has given way to the happiness within.
As far as I understand myself, I can see that it is very intrinsic of us as humans to be happy. But, then somewhere down the line as we grow up we give up on the happiness, little by little. Our happiness becomes indirectly proportional to the amount of success that we achieve in life!
I find this very strange, though. I believe, there’s more we could do for ourselves to brighten up our little own worlds.
Someone got it right when she said,
“A Smile is the shortest distance between two human beings.”
I’d rather put it as,
"Smile is the shortest distance between you and your happiness!”
Keep smiling, all you out there.
That does a lot better to this sick world than the false face that we put on for others!

Unshackled !

This poem is a translation of the ealier posted entry....

Thank you Sweeti for inspiring me to write this poem.

Unshackled

Let me not bind nor imprison,
any relationship.
Let her fly, let her go...
wherever she chooses to.

Who am I to ask?
Who am I to bind her
in shackles that I've made?
Even I am bound by some
Shackles unknown!

Who am I to enchain
Anyone else with bonds
that I have created;
Who Am I,
to hold back those
who are bound by shackles of their own!

Rishtey !

I have found to my utter surprise that sometimes I've been connected to people in the strangest of manners.Be it music,I find someone humming a particular song only to realize that it's the same one that I began humming a few seconds ago!
The same is the case with words....
This is a poem that flowed impromptu during a conversation with Tanvi.
This poem is hers as much it is mine....

Mujhe nahi rakhna kisi bandhan mien;
kisi bhi rishte ko
Udne do unhe......jane do unhe jis disha jis jagah
janaa chahate hai vo..

Hum hai kaun jo punchche....
Hum hai kaun jo bandhe
inhe aapni kisi dor se,
Aakhir hum bhi kissi dor me bandhe hai...
Hum hai kaun,kisi aur ko apne dor me bandhne wale...
vohi log jo apne hi kisi dor me bandhe hai!
